Welcome to the list of beautiful desserts which are served by Google Android Operating System ! Google android versions are named after deserts in alphabetical order for easy remembrance.

Google acquired "Android Incorporation" on Aug,2005 which had been founded earlier by "Andy Rubin". Since then, it became Google Incorporation's subsidiary.
For A and B, we could say it as alpha and beta version. If you want to scrutinize it further: 1.0 -> Apple Cake and Apple Pie, 1.1 Banana Bread and Batten Bread.

Android Cup Cake (Apr,2009)



This is first official and prominent version of Android which has been wordwide acknowledged.

Android Donut (Sep,2009)



This is second official release which supported larger screen sizes.

Android Eclair (Oct,2009)



This Eclair version supported Bluetooth 2.1, lovely live wallpaper, digital and flash zoom for cameras. And major improvement on Google map navigation.

Android Froyo (May,2010)



We could say this Froyo version is optimized version of 2.1 which had redesigned intuitive home screen.

Android Gingerbread (Dec,2010)



In this version, major improvement happened on SIP Internel calling, download manager. As far as sensors are concerned new sensors like gravimeter, barometer are added. Unique features are added for camera options.

Android Honeycomb (Feb,2011)



This is the first tablet supported Android version.

Android Icecream Sandwich (Oct,2011)



Major change happened in UI for this version. From this version onwards, all the google services are brought under "Google Play"

Android Jelly Bean (Jun,2012)



This version introduced "Voice Typing" i.e. unique inbuilt speech to text engine "Google Now"

Android KitKat (Sep,2013)



This version introduced "Voice Typing" i.e. unique inbuilt speech to text engine "Google Now"

Android Lollipop (Nov,2014)



New look using "Material Desing Standard" has been launched with this Lollipop version.Also "Ok, Google" voice control command had been introduced.

Android Marshmallow (Oct,2015)



Screen search feature "Now On Tab" is included in this version. App permissions and finger print support are other notable inclusion.

Android Nougat (Aug,2016)



Split Screen Mode, Data Saver Moder are introduced in this version."Google Assistant" was the notable enhancement in Nougat.

Android Oreo (Aug,2017)



Native picture-in-picture mode and "Notification Snoozing" are introduced in this version.

Android Pie (Aug,2018)



Privacy and security enchancements play a vital role in this latest version. New gesture navigation system is introduced for multifunctional Home button and a series of gesture based commands.
